Modern split-system air conditioners need a service once a year to keep working at their best. Dust and dirt build up on the filters and coils, which makes the system work harder and pushes running costs up. A yearly service catches that early and keeps everything running the way it should.
A standard AC service is £144 including VAT (£120 ex VAT) for the first split, plus £60 (£50 ex VAT) for each additional indoor unit serviced on the same visit. That covers cleaning the filters and indoor coils, checking refrigerant pressures, inspecting the condensate drain, and testing the system through both cooling and heating modes. If anything looks worn or is starting to fail, I will tell you upfront so you can plan a repair before it becomes an emergency in the middle of a heatwave.
Regular servicing also protects the warranty on your unit. Most manufacturers require an annual professional service to keep their warranty valid, so it is worth staying on top of.
